StudyNaija (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website studynaija.com and related services (the “Service”), which help Nigerian students practice for JAMB, WAEC, NECO, and Post-UTME examinations. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
StudyNaija is an independent study platform and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to JAMB, WAEC, NECO, or any government examination body.
1. Information We Collect

- Account information: name, email address, and password (stored securely as a hash, never in plain text) when you register.
- Usage data: quiz attempts, scores, subjects practiced, and time spent on mock tests, so we can show you your progress and power the leaderboard.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, and device information, collected automatically for security and to keep the Service running smoothly.
- Questions submitted to AI features: when you use “AI Explain,” the specific exam question and answer options are sent to a third-party AI provider (see Section 3) to generate an explanation.

- To generate AI-powered explanations for practice questions

3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services, which may process limited data on our behalf:
- Google AdSense: displays ads on the Service and may use cookies to show relevant advertising. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings.
- AI providers (Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude): when you request an AI explanation, the exam question text is sent to these providers to generate a response. We do not send your name, email, or account details as part of this request.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers: our website and database are hosted by third-party infrastructure providers who store data on our behalf under standard hosting agreements.
4. Cookies
We use cookies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and (via Google AdSense) support advertising. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect how the Service functions.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We only share data with the third parties listed in Section 3, as necessary to operate the Service, or if required by law.
6. Users Under 18
Many of our students are secondary school students under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect more information than necessary to provide the Service, and we encourage parents/guardians to be aware of and involved in their child’s use of online educational platforms. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us using the details in Section 9, and we will take appropriate action.
7. Data Retention
We retain your account and quiz history for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Section 9).
